To mark Giving Tuesday on 3 December, support your historical heritage by making a donation to the Maison Ernest Renan.
22 November 2024
The Maison Ernest Renan is taking part in Giving Tuesday
Every year, the #GivingTuesday movement dedicates a day to generosity: donations of money, time, goods, blood, and voices – all forms of generosity are celebrated!
The Ernest Renan House: It wasin a picturesque shipowner’s house dating from the late 16th century that Ernest Renan, born in 1823, spent his first fifteen years. A thinker and writer who championed the right to free expression in historical and religious criticism, his influence was considerable. His home still houses documents and mementoes belonging to the author of *The Life of Jesus* and *Childhood Memories*.
If you are passionate about France’s cultural heritage and keen to ensure it is passed on to future generations, we need your support to continue protecting, restoring and showcasing it, to bring it to life through a varied cultural programme, and to open it up to an ever-wider audience.
By supporting your favourite monument, you are helping to preserve and pass on the treasures of the Maison Ernest Renan.
A tax-efficient donation
If you are a private individual, regardless of the amount of your donation, 66% of the sum is deducted from your income tax (up to a limit of 20% of your taxable income). For example, a donation of €100 actually costs you €34 and entitles you to a tax relief of €66. If this relief exceeds 20% of your taxable income, the excess can be carried forward for five years.
If you make a donation on behalf of your company, regardless of the amount:
- 60 per cent of the amount is deducted from your corporation tax, up to €2 million
- 40% for the portion of donations exceeding this amount
In accordance with the Act of 1 August 2003 on patronage, associations and foundations, the amount of the tax relief is capped at 0.5% of turnover excluding VAT, and may be carried forward over five tax years.
The Maison Ernest Renan extends its warmest thanks to its patrons and donors.
